Introduction
See your probability of a data breach at any record volume, with the impact sitting right beside it.
Bob Vescio, Chief Innovation Officer of X-Analytics, walks through an agent in the X-Analytics AI Toolbox: the Data Breach Loss Curve agent.
What it does
The Data Breach Loss Curve is an AI agent in the X-Analytics AI Toolbox that returns your probability of a data breach alongside the impact at every point on the curve, as an interactive metric card you can work through, annotate, and share.
Your total exposure in X-Analytics breaks into four primary loss categories: data breach, interruption, ransomware, and misappropriation. When data breach carries a large share of that exposure, the loss curve shows you the probability attached to each level of record loss.
Find it in AI Tools. Type "data breach" and the Data Breach Loss Curve appears, along with the full loss lookup tables.
How it works
- Open AI Tools, type "data breach", and select Prepare Data Breach Loss Curve to run the agent.
- Receive an interactive metric card showing your inherent risk, your mitigated risk, your total exposure, and the portion of it sitting in data breach.
- Hover any point on the curve to see the probability attached to that record volume, and watch how the probability shifts as record counts rise.
- Follow the prioritized guidance in X-Analytics, including security awareness training and data protection, to bring those probabilities down.
- Convert the metric card into a shareable artifact, then open it full screen.
- Switch between four severity views: low at the tenth percentile, median at the fiftieth, high at the ninetieth, and worst case at the ninety-seventh. X-Analytics recommends working from the median for decision making.
- Share it with a window you choose, seven days, one month, or a custom length, then generate a link for people inside or outside your company.
- Save it to Vault, the folder icon beside your initials, where every saved artifact lives.
- Add a note to any item, recording something like the data security posture management solution you already deploy. Select Save Changes, and the note travels with the artifact and with every link you share.
What you walk away with
- Your probability of a data breach at any record volume, with the impact beside it.
- Four severity views, from the tenth percentile through the ninety-seventh, with the median as the recommended basis for decisions.
- An interactive artifact your recipients work through themselves, at the severity view each one needs.
- Your own notes recorded on the curve, so the people reading it know what you have in place.
Frequently asked questions
What is the X-Analytics Data Breach Loss Curve agent?
It is an AI agent in the X-Analytics AI Toolbox that prepares your data breach loss curve, showing the probability of a breach at each record volume alongside the impact, as an interactive metric card you can annotate and share.
What are the four primary loss categories in X-Analytics?
Data breach, interruption, ransomware, and misappropriation. Your total exposure breaks out across these four, so you see which category carries the largest share of your risk.
Which severity view should I use to make decisions?
X-Analytics recommends the median, the fiftieth percentile. The tenth, ninetieth, and ninety-seventh percentile views are available when you want to see the range around it.
Can I share a loss curve with someone outside my organization?
Yes. Convert the metric card into a shareable artifact, choose how long the link stays live, then generate it. Recipients open the same interactive card, with the severity views and hover detail working as they do for you.

The video above prepares a loss curve on a profile where data breach carries most of the exposure, walks the probabilities across each severity view, then annotates the artifact and saves it to Vault with a shareable link.
